T-Max
Tuners Included with filters. Order here if you
do not already have one for your SolarMax filter. Some events on the Sun, notably active flares and coronal
mass ejections (CMEs), are extremely fast moving. If such features occur on
the disc of the Sun, their high velocity towards the observer results in
their wavelength being Doppler shifted shorter than Ha. If the velocity is
high enough, this wavelength could be outside the passband of the filter and
the feature would not be observable. The T-Max allows the user to de-tune
the Solarmax slightly to bring such phenomena into better visibility. The
T-Max fits between the Solarmax and its adaptor plate. A simple lever
movement accomplishes the tilt necessary to move the passband of the filter.
Because of the filter's position at the front end of the telescope, this
does not compromise the performance of the filter nor limit the Ha field of
view as is the case with rear mounted filters. $18 Shipping

Customer Comments:
March 1. Hi Guys I received the T-max today, and all I can
say is "WOW". B. Noss, USA October 2 Message : I received my T-MAX TUNER on
Monday. Of course it was raining all day. Today(Tuesday) I set up my
SolarMax mounted to a Megrez 80 and the T-MAX TUNER. What a great accessory.
I am now able to tune the filter for astonishing detail of prominences as
they fly off the sun. To me this is a must have item. Thank You for
making H-Alpha affordable to all of us. Bill Falcone

SolarMax Telescope 40
Aperture 40mm, Focal length 400mm (F/10), 6562.8A (H
alpha) Wavelength, <0.7A Bandpass. Full assembly length: 16.75"
SolarMax 40T is reviewed
in Sky & Telescope August 2002 issue.
Specifically designed to optimize the performance of the SolarMax40 filter with the
use of a special H-Alpha doublet lens designed by Dick Buchroeder (including
optimized anti-ghosting) and superb multi-layer anti reflection coatings on
all surfaces delivers diffraction limited, extremely high contrast
performance. See January 2003 S&T
and Hot Product listing. Both
telescopes 40 and 60 can be "double stacked" by adding a second SolarMax
filter and
T-Max to the front.
The additional filter increases your resolution by
cutting the bandpass to <0.5A.

Solarmax 70 Dedicated Telescope Package
400mm, F5.7
An astronomy teachers’s best friend, the SolarMax
70 telescope has been designed as a sealed unit with no removable parts
other than the eyepiece. Combine this with it ‘s 70mm aperture and you
have a dedicated and portable H-Alpha telescope that is ideal for use by
both the experienced observer and the most novice. As the SolarMax 70
telescope is sealed no critical parts can be removed and set up is a
breeze even for school children. All solar viewing be done under adult
supervision to ensure safe and effective results.
The SolarMax 70 telescope is in use at universities, high schools,
middle schools, and their equivalents around the world. It features a
lower cost design with an etalon smaller than the
actual aperture and positioned towards the rear of the OTA. This design
creates a bandpass of <0.8 angstroms which is slightly higher than the
standard for other SolarMax series telescopes.
The SolarMax 70 telescope has 70mm aperature,
400mm focal length, F5.7 and comes with a 25mm CEMAX eyepiece, clamshell
mounting rings, Sol Ranger sun finder, and hard travel case.

SolarMax 90 Dedicated Telescope Package 800mm,
F8.8
The SolarMax 90 telescope is the largest H-A telescope
ever to be mass-produced and is in use around the
world from private observatories to professional research facilities. Noted
for incredibly sharp, ‘contrasty’ H-Alpha views, and stunning detail. Even
when viewing with a single eyepiece the sun appears fully animated even
revealing hints of curvature, this effect is enhanced when used with bino-viewers.
The SolarMax 90 telescope is compatible with most imaging systems and
amateur astronomers have produced images that rival those gathered by multi
million dollar systems.

The BF30 versions allow for straight through
imaging and come with a Long Wave Pass mirror housed in a 1.25” diagonal. As
the BF30 is internal the back end of the SolarMax 90 is 1.25” on both
versions.
All of the packages come with the following items. Clamshell mounting ring,
Sol Ranger sun finder, Travel case, and full CEMAX eyepiece set. |
Customer Comments: Last week I saw the new
SolarMax Telescope at the Florida Keys
Winter Star Party and I just couldn't resist it any longer! I'm
absolutely amazed at how much solar detail is visible in such a small
package. Size is extremely important to me since I do so much traveling for
solar eclipses. The SolarMax will finally make it possible for me to observe
the partial phases of an eclipse in h-alpha and to know where the major
prominences are BEFORE totality begins! I can't wait to try it at the next
total eclipse which occurs in southern Africa on December 4.
Fred Espenak,
eclipse expert and professional astronomer.
I enthusiastically recommend the Solarmax and believe
Coronado is to be congratulated for producing a safe, high quality,
sub-angstrom filter at an affordable price. Once people out there start
seeing our fascinating sun in the red light of hydrogen alpha there will be
many "converts." H-alpha observing is rewarding, exciting and best of all
fun! Did I say it is also addicting? Along with the FS60c and Teegul mount,
the Solarmax gives me the ultimate portable setup for quick views or
traveling. I think Coronado should place a warning label on the Solarmax
that reads: WARNING! USE OF THE SOLARMAX CAN BE HABIT FORMING. USE AT YOUR
OWN RISK. As an entry-level filter system or ultra portable setup the
Solarmax certainly fits the bill. Kudos to the crew at CIG. The above
comments are strictly my opinion, and I wish you clear skies and sunny days,
Doug Finch.

Better White
Light Solar Filter Binoculars
BinoMite™
The world’s first integrated Solar white light binocular. With this
pocket-sized instrument you can keep a watch for sunspot magnetic storms and
major flares. Monitor the causes of “space weather” and anticipate its
effects on the earth such as auroral lights, electrical blackouts and
disruption to satellites.
Compact, 10 x 25 Roof Prism binoculars with integral white light filtering
to enable safe viewing of the Sun's photosphere. The filters are coated with
an extremely hard metal in a proprietary process that eliminates pinholes
and other defects. The light of the Sun is reduced to a comfortable one
one-hundred-thousandth of its normal intensity (1 x 10e-5) and all
ultra-violet and infra-red components are completely and safely blocked.
BinoMite is manufactured to the same standards of safety and integrity
associated with all Solar instruments from Coronado,- the World's leading
manufacturer of such equipment.
With their 10x magnification, BinoMite™ has enough power to allow viewing of
sunspots and major flares while being compact and light enough to hold
steady. BinoMite is the perfect companion for watching Solar eclipses,-
providing a much more detailed view than the common 'eclipse glasses.' Get into the exciting world of daytime astronomy. Watch the Sun in action.
It’s BinoMite! Powerful enough to show Sunspots and major flares · Lightweight and small
enough to slip into your pocket or purse · The perfect eclipse companion ·
The totally safe way to view the Sun and Solar eclipses · Convenient, safe,
educational and affordable.
