This much power would take about 750 watts of solar modules in sunny locations and twice that amount for winter operation. Some alternatives to buying extra solar modules just for refrigeration would be to use a super efficient Sun Frost or a propane refrigerator. A Sun Frost may seem expensive but it is cheaper than a regular refrigerator when you add the extra cost of solar modules and batteries.Propane refrigerators are freestanding and finished for homes and cabins. The quiet motorless cooling is powered by a tiny flame. Freezers maintain cold in hot weather. The Sun Frost is still preferred over propane units because they do not need purchased fuel.Truck shipping is about $100 to $400 in 48 states.
